Instead of a hot, fully paved play area, a few trees could provide cooling shade and a fun place for play or a nice place for relaxing.
A tree here would also provide cooling for the classroom right next to it and also provide noise reduction.
In addition, it would provide a habitat for wildlife, clean the air and soak up water.
